About
Carrefour is a French multinational retail corporation with over 12,000 stores in 30 countries. The headquarters of Carrefour Belgium are located in Evere, Brussels. Carrefour Belgium has made several ambitious commitments to its employees. One of those commitments is the implementation of the Belgian Federal Mobility Budget.

In the framework of the Mobility Budget in Belgium, employees can choose to not have a company car anymore and instead receive a net amount equal to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the car they would have. This sum can be spent on 100+ mobility options (Pillar II) e.g. public transport or micro-mobility such as sharing scooters. Employees can also buy a bike, e-scooter and accessories, and they can even pay their rent if they live within 10 km of their regular place of work (that can be the Carrefour main office).

Why did Carrefour choose MyMove as partner?

Carrefour wants to manage its assets efficiently and reduce its Total Cost of User Mobility (TCUM)

A lot of focus has been put lately on car’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) becoming the employer’s Total Cost of Mobility (TCM). But what is missing here is the employee’s perspective. Going by train to a professional meeting outside of Brussels for instance, can take hours. Only looking at the relatively cheap ticket price misses part of the picture, hence the willingness by Carrefour to offer a shared fleet to their employees for professional and private needs.

Carrefour wants to have the most flexible mobility-focused Comp&Ben scheme on the job market.

For some time, Carrefour employees could already enjoy the benefits of the mobility budget, a service provided by our close partner Skipr. However, a recurring pain was that employees in the mobility budget scheme found it difficult to arrange for a car during the few moments they really needed one. For professional trips, they relied on public transport, taxis or carpooling. These options are either less convenient than a private car, or more expensive. For private trips, employees could only rent cars from third parties e.g. a traditional rental company, which is often expensive and not very flexible e.g. due to limited opening hours and regular non-transparent extra charges.

With a MyMove shared fleet, not having a company car changed from being a disadvantage to being an opportunity. Indeed, employees can choose from over 100+ mobility options, and still use a car from the MyMove shared fleet whenever they need one, for professional or private trips. Professional trips are at the charge of the employer, whereas private trips are directly debited on the mobility budget of the employee.

Carrefour employees in the mobility budget scheme can now can really choose the right transport mode for the right time and enjoy truly flexible mobility.
